The play, The Blood of a Stranger, is a very simple drama. It depicts the life and culture of a Sierra Leone village of Mando - and the attempt by a whiteman to capitalise on their ignorance to exploit the people of their rich natural deposit. The whiteman used money to manipulate the king's adviser who influenced the village priest into deceiving the king and the entire village.

This play narrates the way some unscrupulous whitemen invade the villages of some African countries, using some of their learned men and hard drug on the people to take away their wealth through illegal means.

Simple and easy to undersand, the play show the believe of African people in their gods and how much they fear their gods. Dele Charley who has got experience in theatre arts make his country, Sierra Leone, proud with this great drama which won Sierra Leone the best play award during Festac ‘77 in Lagos, Nigeria. The words by cast (character) are very short and each has meaning and makes the story the playwright.
