GTA Set to Launch ‘100 Years of Highlife’ Celebration

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has officially announced the launch of 100 Years of Highlife, a special celebration to honour one of Ghana’s most loved and globally recognized music genres.

The launch event will take place on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., at the La Palm Royal Beach Resort in Accra.

This historic celebration will bring together Highlife legends who helped shape the sound, today’s musicians and creatives, industry leaders, policymakers, and music lovers from across the country. 

As part of the December in GH activities, the event highlights Ghana’s rich creative economy and proudly places Highlife music at the center of the nation’s cultural tourism story.
