President John Dramani Mahama, together with his wife Lordina Mahama, spent the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays at the Crown Forest Resort in Gomoa Techiam in the Central Region.
The President shared photos from the trip on his official Facebook page and described the resort as a “great eco-tourism destination.” The pictures showed the couple enjoying the calm and natural environment of the resort as they took time to relax during the festive season.
During their visit, President Mahama and his wife went on a safari ride through the forest, where they saw giraffes and other animals. The President wore a striped sea-blue shirt, while Mrs. Mahama looked elegant in a simple white dress. A tour guide at the resort explained details about the park and the animals, especially the giraffes, making the experience both fun and educational.
This visit highlights the beauty of Ghana’s eco-tourism sites and shows why more attention should be given to developing such resorts across the country. Having forest and eco-tourism resorts in every region can create more jobs, especially for young people, and help grow local communities.
It should also encourage more Ghanaians to explore tourist sites at home instead of spending huge amounts of money traveling outside the country to support other economies.
President Mahama’s visit sends a positive message about the importance of supporting and promoting Ghana’s eco-tourism sector.
