Air Tanzania Officially Launches Ghana Route

Air Tanzania has officially commenced commercial flight operations in Ghana, marking a significant milestone in regional air connectivity. 

The airline will operate a new route linking Dar es Salaam to Accra via Lagos, offering passengers a seamless travel option between East and West Africa.

The launch was celebrated in grand style at Kotoka International Airport, where the inaugural flight touched down on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. 

The aircraft was welcomed with a ceremonial water cannon salute, accompanied by a colourful cultural performance that reflected the warmth and hospitality of Ghana. The event symbolised not just the start of a new route, but the strengthening of ties between Tanzania and Ghana through aviation, tourism, and trade.
