On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the Asogli Te Za (Yam Festival) illuminated Ho, the capital of Ghana’s Volta Region, with vibrant cultural displays and grandeur.

This annual celebration, observed by the chiefs and people of the Asogli State, was themed “Together in Honesty and Purpose, We Build a Just, Peaceful, and Prosperous Nation,” reflecting the community’s commitment to unity and progress.

Although I couldn’t attend the festival in person, I was captivated by stunning videos shared on the Ghana Is Beautiful Facebook page. The Asogli Te Za, a lively tribute to yam, tradition, and unity, showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Volta Region.
One video captured Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, walking majestically to the Durbar Grounds, embodying the pride and elegance of the festival. Another heartwarming moment featured Borborbor dancers from the Volta Region uniting with their Northern counterparts in a mesmerizing performance, moving to a single rhythm that symbolized shared heritage and harmony.
Chiefs and queen mothers, adorned in vibrant, colorful kente cloth, added splendor to the occasion, their attire reflecting the cultural richness of the Asogli State. See some pictures below:
