The Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, has urged all stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industry to rally behind President John Mahama’s call to reset Ghana’s tourism agenda and champion the “December in GH 2025” initiative.
Speaking at the official launch of December in GH, Mr. Debrah emphasized the importance of collective effort in revitalizing the sector.
“I am calling on each and every one of you to strongly support the President’s call to reset our tourism agenda and help promote December in GH 2025. I can’t wait for it to begin, because I know it’s going to be a busy and exciting time,” he said.
He further highlighted the need to address service delivery issues within the industry.
“One major area we must focus on is service provision. That’s why we are calling on the Ghana Tourism Authority, in collaboration with the Hotel, Catering & Tourism Training Institute (HOTCATT), to engage with industry professionals once again. Sometimes, the experiences can be disheartening,” he noted.
“For instance, you walk into a restaurant and ask for a bottle of Coca-Cola, and without even confirming, they bring you Pepsi. These small things matter in the bigger picture of hospitality.”
Mr. Debrah’s remarks come as part of broader efforts to position Ghana as a top destination for global tourism during the festive season, and to ensure service standards meet international expectations.
