Ghana Embraces Advanced Airline Technology to Drive Growth

Ghana continues to position itself as a hub for innovation in the travel and aviation industry, attracting professionals and stakeholders from across West Africa.

“Some participants are coming from Liberia, Sierra Leone, and even Nigeria, so it’s a great success,” said one of the event organizers. “Every year, we host an amazing event in Ghana. I believe Ghana is becoming increasingly attractive to travel agencies and the travel industry in general.”

One of the key topics presented at the event was NDC (New Distribution Capability), a cutting-edge technology introduced by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

“NDC is a new technology developed by IATA, and we’re working to expand its use in Africa,” the speaker explained. “It’s already widely adopted in Europe, and we’ve started implementing it in Nigeria. In fact, many airlines in Nigeria are already using this technology.”

He continued, “Amos is currently the largest aggregator of NDC, and we want to promote this new system because it allows travel agencies to offer cheaper fares and better products. It also provides more visibility into the services and options available in the market.”

As Ghana embraces such advancements, the country is solidifying its role as a regional leader in aviation and travel technology, paving the way for broader adoption across the continent.
