“President Mahama Encourages Good Customer Service To Enhance Tourism Experience In Ghana”

President John Mahama has highlighted the immense potential of Ghana’s tourism sector, encouraging continued growth in customer service across hotels, restaurants, and tourist sites to help the industry reach even greater heights.

Addressing a gathering, Mr. Mahama emphasized the importance of intentional improvements within the sector.

“We must identify our tourist sites, enhance their attractiveness, and strengthen service delivery,” he said. “When visitors dine in our restaurants or enjoy our hospitality, we want them to feel warmly welcomed and well taken care of.”

He also reflected on service experiences in other parts of the world to illustrate the benefits of exceptional hospitality.

“In many places, the service is so attentive that before you finish your drink, the staff kindly ask if you’d like another,” he said with a smile. “It creates a pleasant atmosphere that makes guests feel valued.”

Mr. Mahama noted that elevating customer service requires professionalism and continuous training.

“Owners of establishments should invest in well-trained staff who understand courtesy and customer care,” he said. “We are in this business because customers choose us, and offering excellent service helps us maintain that trust.”

He encouraged business owners to match their beautiful facilities with equally polished service.

“Many establishments are investing wonderfully in their infrastructure. Matching that with skilled personnel ensures that guests enjoy a smooth, memorable experience,” he said.

He described these improvements as essential to strengthening Ghana’s appeal as a global tourism destination.

“We have a beautiful country,” he said. “Visitors always appreciate this, and by enhancing our service delivery, we can make their experience even better.”

Mr. Mahama added that government also has a role to play in supporting the tourism sector.

“The government must ensure that infrastructure is strong, beginning with our road networks. We are working to dualize the road all the way to Cape Coast and the Central Region so that people can travel more comfortably and enjoy the many attractions there,” he said.
