Professor Kobby Mensah, the CEO of Ghana Tourism Development Company and a Professor of Marketing at the University of Ghana has commended the President, H.E John Dramani Mahama for carrying through his vision of Creatives Connect from the manifesto stage to real action.
Prof Kobby Mensah was speaking at the recently held Creatives Connect Afrika in Accra, which was organised by The Black Star Experience secretariat, AfCFTA and the Africa Tourism Partners.
He also praised Rex Omar for the excellent work done in bringing together the ATP from South Africa and the AfCFTA. “This is a great platform that truly helps promote creatives. We have never had such a big platform before, and through the president’s vision, it is now happening. The idea that creatives from across the continent can come together and market their work both across Africa and globally is something that deserves recognition,” he said.
Professor Mensah added that the platform will help creatives build meaningful networks, form strong connections, and better understand how the AfCFTA works so they can apply it and benefit fully. He explained that because the AfCFTA is headquartered in Ghana, it is especially important for the country to lead the way in helping Ghanaian and African creatives take full advantage of this opportunity.
“This platform will boost trade within the continent and also open doors globally. I believe this is very important, and we must commend the president for such an initiative,” he said.
