Established in 1975, the Bomfobiri Waterfalls are a breathtaking natural wonder located within the Bomfobiri Forest Reserve in Kumawu, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The reserve was created to protect the area’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage. The waterfall itself cascades down approximately 50 meters in height, flowing over four steep steps before reaching a serene pool at the base. This pool, measuring about 30 square meters, can accommodate up to 60 people at a time.
The surrounding landscape features a mix of lush rainforest and savannah grasslands, providing a habitat for a variety of wildlife, including buffaloes, crocodiles, red river hogs, baboons, and duikers.
The best time to visit the waterfall is in November, during the dry season, which offers ideal conditions for spotting wildlife and enjoying the natural beauty of the area.
